Team Evolution: Road to Paris 2024

As if Paris hasn't seen enough sport in the summer of 2024 with the Olympics and Paralypics, Team Evolution attended their first ever display competition in Paris as part of Gymnastique Magique! To top it all off the team have been successfully selected for Disneyland Paris' Pre-parade down Main Street!

 

Team Evolution 2024 was made up of a team of 21 gymnasts, the first ever team from the Scottish Borders to take part in any competitive team competitions and the first team to travel to Paris where they will compete as a team in three competitions. Each competition has a different theme requiring different costumes, music and choregraphy. The competitions took place over Friday and Saturday in Paris followed by the Pre-Parade on Sunday evening! 

 

The team displayed three impressive routines and were delighted to have taken home not one but three places in the competitions:

 

Whole club group open 5-17 years - 3rd place

Whole club group Disney 5-17 years - 2nd Place

Whole Club Halloween Spooktacular 5 years+ - 3rd Place

 

Complete Clarity Solicitors are Team Evolutions main sponsor who have been following our progress since February 2024. They have supported the team with sponsorship towards costumes which has gone a long way in our fundraising efforts!

Community impact

As a club, we provide opportunities to compete at all levels from recreational, floor and vault to four piece for gymnastics and regional in trampoline and DMT. We work hard to provide as many opportunities to take part in sports at all levels 6 days a week. We also support our community members with Duke of Edinburgh Awards, Saltire Awards, Leadership Awards, Learn to Coach and UKCC coaching qualifications.

 

As a club we are keen to offer competitive opportunities in our display team, Team Evolution, that include gymnasts from all levels and ages within the club. The team are inclusive and inspire our younger gymnasts.
