Classes

You will find the latest information about our classes on this page. Our club is constantly evolving and growing and as such continuously trying to meet demand with new classes.

P.H.D FUNdamentals offers a few different discipline of gymnastics. We offer general gymnastics, Womens artistic, Mens Artistic, Display and Trampoline. Each requires strength, stamina and endurance.

JuniorGym

Our JuniorGym sessions are aimed at nursery children 3-5 years. Our independent sessions provide children an introduction to gymnastics with music, hand apparatus and shapes on floor. We then move onto walking along the beam, swinging on the bars and jumping on the vault before finishing together with a song.

General Gymnastics

Gymnastics is for everyone and our general gymnastics classes allow children to learn the fundamentals of gymnastics on beam, bars, floor, vault and tumble track. Our fun sessions follow an annual plan that includes a Christmas Display to develop team skills and confidence, optional entry into our annual Floor and Vault competition; Elements and a fun four-piece annual club championships.

Women's Artistic

Our girls gymnastics squads follow the Women's Artistic pathway. They train on floor, beam, bars and vault along with attending strength and conditioning sessions and choreography. We offer two competitive pathways: two piece and four piece following the Scottish Gymnastics Regional pathway. Our two-piece gymnasts take part competitions on floor and vault representing the club at many events and train a minimum of 6 hours per week. Our four piece regional squad train 11 hours each week taking part in the Scottish Gymnastics Regional Pathway competition. Places are limited and selected through trial each year.

Floor and Vault

Our two piece gymnasts train on all 4 pieces of apparatus with a focus on Floor and Vault for competitions. The mian competitions are the Scottish Gymnastics Summer Floor and Vault in June, the Scottish Gymnastics Autumn floor and Vault in November both held in Perh. We also take part in local competitions hosted by ourselves (registered with Scottish Gymnastics) and local clubs. These gymnasts train a minimum of 6 hours per week and aim to compete in 4 competitions per year. Places are limited and selected through trial each year.

Men's Artistic

We offer our boys classes the chance to follow the men's artistic pathway by developing skills on boys specific equipment including parallel bars, pommel and mushroom. Did you know that 90% over men's artistic gymnastics is competed using mainly the upper body?

Display

Display gymnastics is a combination of skills, tumbles, lifts, catches and dance. We offer a display team that has showcased their work at a number of events across the Scottish Borders and attended Scottish Gymnastics GymFest. Our team, Team Evolution work hard to perfect their routine to showcase their teamwork, coordination and skills whilst they dazzle the audience with a coordinated themed routine.

Trampoline

Trampoline is a discipline of gymnastics where gymnasts compete a routine performing skills in the air. Our fun sessions follow an annual plan that includes a Christmas Display to develop team skills and confidence, British Gymnastics Proficiency awards and a fun four piece annual club championships. Did you know that just 10 minutes of bouncing on our competition standard trampolines is the same as a 30-minute run!

Double Mini Trampoline

We are delighted to offer a new block of DMT on Fridays. Please get in touch for more details.

Double Mini Trampoline (DMT) is a discpline of gymnastics within teampolining. Gymnasts perform acrobatic skills on a smaller trampoline with the first section sloped to mount the DMT.
